The fuel injection system used on the 1990 to 1995 Classic Range Rover 3.9 and 4.2 litre V8 engines is the Lucas 14CUX Hotwire system. This system was also used on the Land Rover Discovery (including 3.5 litre engines), and all of the Rover V8 based TVR engines.
The vehicles fitted with this system are not fitted with standard OBDII diagnostic sockets and as a result many of them are running around with a variety of faults causing emissions problems, reduced performance and fuel economy. We have the tools and experience to read the fault codes and fix the faults on these excellent but frequently misunderstood systems.
In addition to troubleshooting these fuel injection systems, we can also chip them for extra performance – see our 14CUX Fuel Injection Performance Upgrades page for more details.
